On Friday, December 8th, visit Open Door Coffee Company for hats, mittens, and beaded necklaces made by Susan Terkel. Not only are the items warm and charming, but they support a good cause, too: all sales will go to support The Lesotho Connection.
The Lesotho Connection partners with the St. Camillus Center, an orphanage in the African country of Lesotho. In recent weeks, a record number of children have come through the door stretching resources to the max and creating an urgent need for help.
“We have strong ties with Southern Africa as I was born and raised there. We are very familiar with Lesotho and the plight of children in its rural, poverty stricken areas… We applaud the amazing volunteer doctors and workers who head up the Lesotho Project,” said Charles Pinnell of Open Door Coffee Co.
The Lesotho Connection is a non-denominational, 501(c)3 organization that aspires to develop resources, promote understanding, and foster mutuality between communities in the United States and Lesotho. TLC works in partnership with grass-roots, Basotho led organizations responding to the high incidence of HIV/AIDS, ever growing number of AIDS orphans and vulnerable children; and extreme poverty of Lesotho, Africa.
