For the Holiday Hop, Suburban Sit is pleased to welcome artist Nikki Mezic. She will be showing clay pieces as well as hand-dyed napkins and much more.
Nikki Mezic enjoys hand building one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces. Each one is unique, and all have more character than anything made with a potter’s wheel.
Drawing from her graphic design background, she uses a vivid color pallet and incorporate stripes and red & black as design elements in many of her pieces. She loves the graphic contrast of these colors and bring them into a lot of her work.
The Spiral symbol is incorporated into most of her pieces. An ancient symbol of evolution, the Spiral one of the oldest symbols in existence. It represents the cycle of the seasons and the cycles of Life, growth and change. Although each loop of the spiral brings one back to the same place, it takes one to a higher and more evolved level at each turn. Clay is the perfect medium to work the spiral symbol into as it’s essentially made of “earth”.
Nikki will also have her tie-dyed napkins sets, which are perfect as gifts for friends and family. Each napkin is unique, made from 100% heavy, restaurant quality napkins. They all are unstainable!
Nikki has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Bowling Green State University. She is a graphic artist by trade with a passion for hand built pottery. For more information on Nikki’s work, visit www.nikkimezic.com
