In south Hudson, The Red Twig will feature the fused glass art of Carol Comer along with delicious treats from Nosh Creative Catering.
Carol describes herself and her work as, “I am a public school art teacher and emerging artist who has finally found a media that truly inspires me. With glass I can create the depth, beauty and vibrancy of the world around me. I create my images with black powdered glass on sheet glass and then add color with varying sizes of frit, or chunks of colored glass. Many different tools are used to create a variety of effects, including my fingers, card stock, combs, paint brushes and rubber tipped sticks. The drawings are temporary until fired in a kiln at very high temperatures. When cool the piece is completely fused and permanent.
My images are drawn from memories: places I have been and experienced or read about. They are universal in their appeal to us as human beings and our common life experiences. I enjoy sharing my art with others and telling the story behind each piece.”
The Red Twig is an art gallery and floral design studio housed in a unique space. Be sure to visit this stop on the Hop on June 9th!
The Red Twig is located at 5245 Darrow Rd, behind Portage Glass.
