In South Hudson, you’ll find a gem of a shop – the creative vision of floral artist Michelle Touve-Holland. The Red Twig is her hub for floral design for weddings, special events and her arty (newly expanded) location is also a perfect spot for showers, catered dinners and more. With gallery space for paintings, mixed media and functional artwork, The Red Twig lets visitors enjoy an ever-changing palette of guest artists, with a location that’s a work of art in itself.

During the July 14th Art Hop, guest artist Gail Trunick will share her creations of clay and mixed media. A graduate of the school of Art at Kent State University, Trunick has art in collections nationwide and international and has had numerous one-woman shows. In 2012 she worked in the world famous Nek Chand Rock Garden in India, creating life size figures alongside and with the guidance of Nek Chand.  The Atlantic Monthly says of her work, “Trunick is capturing the texture of life – one that isn’t clean and beautiful, but gnarled and filled with emotion.”

One of nine children, Gail Trunick grew up the daughter of a potter. Her love for using found objects in her art began at an early age. “We learned to play and make things from throw aways”, she says. “They were free and you were forced to use your imagination.”

She currently works from her studio in Burghill, Ohio. Follow her blog at The Red Twig is located at 5245 Darrow Road, Hudson. To learn more, visit
